Homenagem: Vice presidência da República afirma hoje, em alusão ao Dia Internacional da Mulher, que o empoderamento da mulher angolana é visível.
No Dia Internacional da Mulher, efeméride assinalada esta quarta-feira [08.03.2023], a Vice-Presidente da Republica, Esperança da Costa, afirmou que o empoderamento da mulher em Angola é visível.
“Foi e tem sido um percurso longo, mas hoje de facto Angola tem já varias mulheres em lugares de destaque e de tomada de decisão. E não é só o número de mulheres, mas, e sobretudo, as áreas em que as mulheres hoje já ocupam”.
Afirmou Esperança da Costa em declarações à imprensa angolana, em Doha, Qatar, quando falava sobre a participação de Angola na 5ª Conferência das Nações Unidas sobre os Países Menos Avançados.
A Vice-Presidente da República disse ser objectivo do Executivo, cada vez mais, através dos Departamentos Ministeriais, sobretudo, o da Acção Social, Família e Promoção da Mulher, empoderar a mulher através da capacitação nas várias áreas do saber, para promover o desenvolvimento do género.
Esperança da Costa aproveitou a ocasião para realçar a valorização do contributo da mulher em Angola, que tem estado a participar na gestão de conflitos, na democratização do país, na obtenção da paz e na luta para o alcance do desenvolvimento sustentável.
“Por isso, o Executivo vai continuar a liderar este processo do empoderamento da mulher, através da capacitação, e cada vez mais encontrar oportunidades onde a mulher possa revelar e demonstrar as suas competências e habilidades ao serviço do pais”, referiu.
Questionada sobre a estratégia para o combate a violência doméstica contra a mulher, lembrou que já existe legislação sobre a matéria. Além da legislação, faz-se valer todo um conjunto de acções, desde o aconselhamento, à própria fiscalização do cumprimento da Lei.
“Mas, e sobretudo, há a necessidade de cada vez mais a nível do nosso país consciencializarmos a nossa população e sociedade, e retirar das comunidades e das famílias os estereótipos e estigmas culturais que permanecem e impedem a mulher de seguir o seu caminho, de ser cada vez mais educada e mais empoderada”, defendeu.
